This choice enabled him to generate the additional revenue required to keep the business going, and enable it to thrive. Not only was this the best financial option, it was also the best personal option for the trader, who had determinedly built his business from scratch.

Our client, the owner of a trade-based business, came to us with a number of legal issues around a potentially non-compliant self-managed super fund, a substantial tax debt (business and personal), and shares issued in the incorrect company name.

In addressing the issues with the shares, we discovered the solution would not be as simple as having the share register corrected. The shares had been fraudulently transferred to a competitor.

Following substantial investigations by us and a financial advisor who we brought in to assist with this matter, we are now in the process of negotiating to recover the value of shares as well as the investment opportunity lost.
